New wax made in Canada

I've been talking about it for a while now, and most of the Scented Spell Candles are being made with it, but let's talk about why I switched waxes.

Last year, prior to me launching the Votive Spell Candles, I was searching for better pricing on wax. My supplier at the time had a half tonne minimum order quantity, and the cost of freight had gone through the roof. I didn't really find a similar wax at better pricing, but I did come across a wax that got me intrigued. I didn't order it, though.

I placed an order for my exisiting wax for the votives, but I couldn't get this interesting sounding wax out of my head. I ecentually ordered a sample of it, and when it arrived, I qucikly got to experimenting with it...and fell in love! I loved the rustic finish, but had to do a lot of trial and error to get the second pour just right. The challenge was that in order to get the rustic finish, I have to do the first pour while the wax is at a low temperature, a lot lower than is customary for paraffin wax.

The results speak for itself:

The rustic finish adds character to the candles, and fits with the 'old world' theme of Lailokens Awen, with the old parchment look of my labels.

Besides the look, what I love about this wax is that it has excellent scent throw, both cold and hot. And it's made in Canada!!! That makes me very happy, especially since it doesn't increase my cost to make the candles, which you'd expect. Thank you excessive freight costs for making something made in Canada NOT seem expensive, lol.

To be honest, even if it did cost more, it would have been worth it. I mean, look at these candles! They're beautiful! And you all seem to be enjoying them more, based on the feedback I've been getting. Which reminds me...please leave product reviews when you get the email. Reviews are very, very helpful to small businesses.

Between the new made in Canada wax and the new range of 1.5" x 7" Scented Spell Candles, it's an exciting new chapter for Lailokens Awen. I only have 4 different Scented Spell Candles left of the 'old wax'. It's going to be great when they've finally sold out, and everything is being made with this beautiful wax.
